 This section of the website is devoted to Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), which is one of my primary occupations.  Below you will find an abbreviated version of my resume, some thoughts about teaching in general, and information about classes I am teaching or have taught.

  TEACHING QUALIFICATIONS, TESOL:

Summers,  2006 - Present    Teacher - ESL   Language Adventures,  Bellingham, WA

Teacher for a three-week total immersion class on the campus of Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA.  The class consists of  13 - 19 year old students from Spain.  A content based course, the subject: Culture of United States. Responsibilities included planning and teaching all aspects of the class, such as, topic selection, lesson plans, presentation of material, error correction, and evaluation.

Summer 2004    Teacher - ESL   Western Washington University,  Bellingham, WA

Hired as an assistant teacher for a composition class and an environmental science class in the "Korea University at Western" program.  In the composition class, I was given the opportunity of teaching nine of the students independently of the main class.  Responsibilities included lesson plans, presentation of material, and evaluation.  Program allowed high degree of one-on-one student/teacher interaction.

Fall 2003        Teaching Practicum - ESL   Skagit Valley C.C.     Mt. Vernon, WA

Teacher, composition review section of an academic level grammar and composition review class.   Responsibilities included planning and teaching all aspects of the class, such as, topic selection, lesson plans, presentation of material, error correction, and evaluation.

 
In the future, there will be more information about me, photographs and information about classes I have taught, and general information about language learning.  Hopefully, my students past and present will be able to use this website as a way to stay connected to me, their English learning experiences, and obtain more information about learning English. I intend to have an interactive method of communicating on this part of the site soon.

I have enjoyed working for a company called Language Adventures during the past two summers.  My class in 2006 consisted of 12 students from Spain, who were in Bellingham for a three-week immersion program to learn about U.S. culture and improve their English Language skills.  This year (2007) I had 9 students in my class.  They are pictured below.
